The Finance Department is comprised of four divisions: Accounting, Information Systems, Purchasing and Utility Billing.

Finance

The Finance Division is responsible for the administration of all financial affairs of the City, including:

Information Systems

Information Systems provides the overall management of information and data processing for all City departments. It currently has five employees who maintain the City's i520 iSeries computer system, operating software and HTE computer applications, network, websites & e-mail administration as well as providing technical support to users citywide. Long range information system planning is a primary concern of this division.
 

Purchasing

The Purchasing Division is responsible for a variety of activities which include:

• Accounts Payable
• Acquisitions
• Bid Listing
• City auctions
• Requests For Proposals (RFPs)

Utility Billing

The Utility Billing Division is primarily responsible for serving the City's approximately 34,000 electric, water, sewer and sanitation customers. Such services include:

• Beaches Energy Services
• Billing
• Collections
• Customer support

The division also collects payments for other City services:

• Animal license tags
• Building permits
• Local Business Tax
• Recreation fees
