Overview

The Fire Department is responsible for providing emergency services, prevention and inspection programs, disaster management, and radio communication responsibilities for the City. The Fire Department also provides many Life Safety Services and other community programs free of charge to promote the safety of the City's residents.

The Fire Department is comprised of 38 members; 4 in administration, 27 career staff, and 7 auxiliary personnel who operate out of 2 stations with 3 front line apparatus.

The area covered is from the Atlantic Ocean to the east to the Intracoastal Waterway to the west and Neptune Beach to the north to the St. Johns County line to the south. This is approximately 8 square miles covering around 22,000 residents and numerous visitors.
