Overview

The Fire Department is responsible for providing emergency services, prevention and inspection programs, disaster management, and radio communication responsibilities for the city.

The Fire Department is comprised of 31 staff members; four in administration and 27 combat personnel.

Combat personnel are divided into three shifts comprised of a shift Commander, two Lieutenants, and six Firefighter/Engineers that operate out of 2 stations.

Administration staff includes the Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, Training Lieutenant and an Administrative Secretary that operates out of Fire Station #1.

The Fire Marshal oversees company inspections, performs high hazard and new construction inspections, plan reviews, code enforcement, public education activities, fire investigations and acts as Safety Officer in the Training Lieutenant’s absence.

The Training Lieutenant is responsible for all training activities and serves as the department’s Safety Officer.
