The Junior Lifeguard program is a one-week, full-day camp for kids 9-15, and is sponsored by the City of Jacksonville Beach and the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corp. For further information contact Coach Paugh 312-3307 or 249-9141 or the Recreation Office at 247-6236.
Junior Lifeguard Guidelines & Regulations
Because the camp is held at the lifeguard station, the students can view how professional lifeguards handle beach emergencies and day-to-day operations.
The program trains students to get a job as a lifeguard when they turn sixteen years old. Many of our lifeguards have pursued careers as firefighters, police officers, military personnel, doctors, and nurses.
