St Johns County Animal Control
Florida Fish and Wildlife, FWC
The Animal Control Officer responds to animal welfare checks, enforces regulations established to safeguard both our citizens and their pets, and patrols our community for pet violations.
Animals in our care are scanned for microchips and placed in comfortable holding compartments during their stay. Pets that arrive sick or injured may be taken to a local veterinary clinic for treatment.
We also utilize our Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, an excellent volunteer group, to feed, water, and clean the animals in our care.

Dog Park
Dog owners now have a new place to go with their dogs! The City of Jacksonville Beach recently opened Paws Park at Wingate Park, a playground for dog owners and their dogs. Located just around the corner from the Police Department and Animal Control, Paws Park is an off-leash park with a large-dog area, a small-dog area, watering bowls, benches, and an educational bulletin board. The park is also handicapped accessible.
