Citizens On Patrol
Members of the Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) can volunteer for a more active patrolling program called Citizens On Patrol (COP). COP volunteers are trained to direct traffic, provide parking enforcement services and patrol proactively. COP volunteers receive an initial 65 hours of specialized training on patrolling techniques, Florida laws, and report writing. Following training, they are able to write basic crime reports so officers can continue their patrolling.
