C.A.P.E. is a community-policing project focusing on two areas in the city. One is located in our downtown area; the other is located in the South Pablo Beach neighborhood. C.A.P.E. officers use community-policing methods to solve crimes and address quality-of-life problems.
A full-time and one part-time officer are assigned to the C.A.P.E. Unit in the South Pablo Beach neighborhood. The officers patrol the neighborhood in vehicles as well as on bicycles or on foot. They work closely with neighborhood leaders to address crime issues and provide safe activities for young people at the C.A.P.E. office located in the Carver Community Center.
Four full-time officers are assigned to the C.A.P.E. Unit in the downtown area. The officers patrol the businesses and the beach property in marked patrol vehicles, SUV's, ATV's, on bicycles, on foot, or on Segways. They work closely with business leaders to address crime issues and provide a safe environment for residents, visitors, and beach goers.
