Bicycle Registration
A bicycle is stolen every 7 seconds, and thousands of bikes are recovered by police each year; however, very few are returned to the victim due to the absence of owner contact information.
Bicycle Registration Program
The bicycle registration program is a theft recovery program. If your bicycle is missing, this program will aid officers in identifying your property.
Bicycles which are registered with the police department will have a six-year record of ownership which will assist in the return of the bicycle to its owner.
Items Required for Registration
Bicycle registration is FREE; however, it requires you to bring a state-issued ID card and your bicycle to the police department. Please complete the fillable registration form, print the form, and bring it with you when registering. Or click here to submit your registration online.
Bicycles belonging to children are registered to the parent.
After Registration
We recommend you take a photograph of yourself standing behind your bicycle and write the following information on the back of the photo:
•The serial number or owner-applied number;
•Make;
•Model; and
•Other identification marks and after-market products.
If your bicycle is missing, this photo will aid officers in identifying your property in a report. The photo also serves to identify you as the owner and may facilitate a speedy return.
Large community events within the City of Jacksonville Beach can request registration on location by contacting Parking Services.
