Jacksonville Beach Deck The Chairs is an annual lighted sculptural exhibit using the iconic chairs of The American Red Cross Life Saving Corps. Forty chairs are sponsored by local business and decorated by regional artists. The exhibit is on display in downtown Jacksonville Beach at the Seawalk Pavilion and Latham Plaza from the end of November and the entire month of December.

Founded to benefit our nation’s only remaining Volunteer Life Saving Corps, Jax Beach Deck The Chairs (JBDTC) is a one-of-a-kind holiday event. JBDTC brings community together, shares a joyful spirit of diverse creativity, and provides important economic benefit to the region during off-season.

JBDTC is proud to support the Volunteer Life Saving Corps of Jacksonville Beach. All net proceeds from JBDTC go to help supplement funding provided by the American Red Cross and the City of Jacksonville Beach. Funds are needed for training and outreach programs, and maintenance of its oceanfront facility.

Event and performance hours vary so please check out the schedule at www.dtc.org.

The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver, through a new toy at Christmas, a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.

The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
