The Planning and Development Department consists of two Divisions:

• Planning & Development Division 
• Building Inspection Division 

Both collaborate to ensure the continued high level and quality of development as a key factor in broadening the City's tax base. 

New construction provides housing, employment, commerce, and entertainment activities for both residents and visitors to our community.

Jacksonville Beach first adopted a comprehensive set of sign regulations in 1980. This ordinance contained a mandatory 5- year amortization period for non-conforming signs. Prior to that time, any business could erect their own pylon-type sign whether they were free-standing or were a tenant in a shopping center.  [more information...]

The Land Development Code (LDC) is available at www.municode.com, an external website.  The LDC contains information about definitions, site development standards (parking and loading, signage, site clearing and landscaping, etc.), supplemental standards (fences, home occupations, outdoor restaurants and bars, etc.), and zoning districts regulations, etc.
