The General Investigations Team investigates crimes such as homicide, robbery, burglary, theft, etc.

The Community Response Team primarily investigates vice and drug crimes. Detectives for both teams are drawn from the ranks of patrol officers and receive specialized investigative training.

Community Assisted Policing Effort (C.A.P.E.) is a community-policing project focusing on two areas in the city.  CAPE officers use community-policing methods to solve crimes and address quality-of-life problems.

The School Resource Officer works with students, teachers, and other staff to provide education, counseling, and law enforcement services on school grounds.
