The City of Jacksonville Beach is doing its part to keep even the youngest of our citizen’s safe as they travel to and from school. Our School Crossing Guards play an important role in teaching children how to safely cross the roadway by using effective uniform techniques children can easily remember. The program follows Florida state guidelines enacted in 1992 as a part of the “Ramon Turquest School Crossing Guard Act”.
Each year the first Friday in February is dedicated as School Crossing Guard Appreciation Day. On this day the State of Florida recognizes School Crossings Guards and city programs that exemplify the professionalism of the program. If you would like nominate your favorite School Crossing Guard please contact Parking Services 904-247-4004 for an application. More Information
