The City of Jacksonville Beach has more than 4.1 miles of sandy beaches which offer recreational opportunities year round. The City of Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Division and the American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps provide ocean safety to its residents and visitors along our beach.

Beach chairs for the disabled are available upon request at our lifeguard station.

Jacksonville Beach offers free Ocean Safety Brochures for individuals, groups, organizations, schools, or your family. Upon request we will speak to your group or organization about ocean safety. Lifeguards are on duty when they are upon a beach tower with a flag on it. It is safest to swim near an occupied lifeguard beach tower that has a flag in place.
