Find It All in Jacksonville Beach

The Blues, Jazz, Rock’n Roll, the Pops, and the Movies!

Jacksonville Beach continues its tradition as the entertainment center of Northeast Florida. Spring and Summer are festival and concert season in this city by the sea. Fans of the blues, jazz, classical music, and movies are just a few of the many who are drawn to the nearly weekly events in Jacksonville Beach that offer family entertainment.

Beginning in March, Jacksonville Beach residents and visitors have an opportunity to enjoy some of the best national and regional bands, all with the beautiful Atlantic Ocean serving as the backdrop. Festivals also feature a variety of arts, crafts and children's activities.

Deck The Chairs, Beaches Winter Light Festival, is set to kickoff November 29, 2015. With more than 40 decorated lifeguard chairs on display in downtown Jacksonville Beach, this monthlong event is sure to put a smile on the faces of visitors young and old. The creatively adorned chairs are sponsored through public and private efforts, and provide a backdrop for the 24-ft whimsical DTC Tree festooned with lights and custom designed ornaments. This year, DTC will offer magic day and night with expanded displays, new lighting features, and the Winter Playground featuring the 28-ft DTC Sea Shell Slide, Santa's Work Shop, Players By The Sea Holiday Shows, Jacksonville Zoo mascots, and more daytime programming on weekends. All proceeds from Deck The Chairs benefit the Jacksonville Beach Lifesaving Corps. Josh’s Run for Paws

Location: Municipal Parking Lot adjacent to Latham Plaza

Josh’s Run for Paws 5k Run/Walk is an event created by the Joshua Heinz Foundation to memorialize Joshua Heinz, a 31-year old Jacksonville resident who was tragically killed in January 2014. One of Josh’s passions was working with animals, especially his dog Jackson, whom he rescued as a puppy from a Gainesville animal shelter. Josh trained Jackson as a United States Service Animal and regularly volunteered at the Jacksonville Humane Society and Paws Dog Park, to better the lives of animals and their owners.
