Electronic Permit Application Submittals

To help streamline the application process and decrease the number of visits an applicant needs to make, we are now accepting certain permit applications electronically. However certain blueprints, drawings, site plans, specifications, surveys and/or applicable plan check fees required to complete the review process must be submitted in non-electronic (physical) format either in person, postal mail, and/or other delivery services. At this time, payments are accepted in the form of cash, check or money order only. Checks should be made payable to "City of Jacksonville Beach".


Effective January 1, 2020, Pursuant to Florida Statute 117.05, Notaries are required to indicate whether the instrument was acknowledged via means of physical presence or online notarization. This change is mandatory on all forms, not just those that are electronically notarized. Failure to submit current forms will result in the rejection of your application.

Immediate-Release Permit Applications

As of August 31, 2020, the following immediate-release (aka over-the-counter) permit applications can be submitted via email:

Application Processing

  • Please allow staff three business days for processing; if the work is of an urgent matter, please visit our office in person during normal business hours.
  • Completed applications can be faxed to 904-247-6107 or emailed to the Building Inspection Division in portable document format (PDF) only.
  • Please include the street address and application type in the subject line (example: 1234 Main Street/Electrical Permit Application).
  • The maximum file size accepted by email is limited to 10MB.
  • Applications will be processed in the order in which they are received.
  • The Permit Holder will be notified via email upon issuance of the permit, including the total amount due.
