Open Fires on the Beach
Open fires on the beach are not allowed for any reason.
Grills are not allowed on the beach.
Land Clearing
Any open burning in the City is not allowed unless it has been approved and a permit issued by the Fire Department.
Trash/rubbish fires are prohibited at any time. This includes wiring, household waste, yard collections, construction debris, or other similar material. The burning of leaves or grass is prohibited.
Grills & Similar Devices
For one and two-family dwellings, cooking fires in approved containers including a fire pit with spark arrester; ornamental fireplaces; chimneys; charcoal, gas, or electric barbecue grills and patio heaters are allowed provided they are used in accordance with their listing, applicable codes, recommended fuel, and the manufacturer's instructions. They are not to be used around combustible material, nor are they to create a nuisance or other type of hazard.
For other than one and two-family dwellings, no hibachi, fire pits, ornamental fireplaces, chimneys, grills, or any type, or similar device used for cooking, heating or other purpose shall be used or kindled on any balcony, under any overhang portion of a structure or within ten feet of any structure. Listed electric grills no more than 200 square inches are acceptable. LP gas or natural gas-operated equipment permanently installed in accordance with its listing, applicable codes, and manufacturer instructions, may be permitted if the LP or natural gas is piped into the appliance and approved by the Fire Marshal.
