Karen Nelson
Karen has 18 years of experience with the City of Jacksonville Beach, beginning in 2000 as the Accounting Supervisor.
She became the Director of Human Resources in 2011, and then Chief Financial Officer in 2015. In April of 2018, Karen was selected to be Deputy City Manager.
Karen received her B.A. in Accounting from the University of North Florida. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Karen is the Chair of the Audit and Risk Oversight Committee for the Florida Municipal Power Agency (FMPA). She also serves on FMPA's ARP Solar Participants Advisory Committee and is an alternate on the Board of Directors and ARP Executive Committee. In addition, Karen serves as an alternate on the Florida Municipal Electric Association Board of Directors.
