The Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Division (JBOR) is a certified Advanced Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Agency of the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA) and is the ocean and marine rescue service for the City of Jacksonville Beach that protects more than 4.1 miles of coastline.

As a certified first response agency employing over 80 people, the Ocean Rescue Division is comprised of Lifeguards, EMT Lifeguards, and Command Officers. All of the Division’s Command Officers are at minimum, Florida Licensed Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT).

With the assistance of the Volunteer Life Saving Corps, who are also Advanced Agency Certified with the United States Lifesaving Association, residents and visitors are provided beach and ocean safety, year-round. Tower Staffing is weather dependent, but Ocean Rescue performs truck patrols year-round, even during inclement weather conditions.

Jacksonville Beach Lifeguards have beach wheelchairs available upon request at the Lifeguard Station on a first come, first serve basis. For availability, call the Jacksonville Beach Lifeguard Station during in-service hours. Reservations and call-aheads are not allowed.

Jacksonville Beach Lifeguards provide Beach and Ocean Safety Presentations when available for groups, schools, faith base organizations, and business. To request a Beach and Ocean Safety Presentation or for a large group tour of the historical 73 year old Lifeguard Station, fill out our contact for by clicking HERE and select Ocean Rescue Lifeguards and one of our Command Officers will get back to you.
