4th of July Fireworks Display is Cancelled

Jacksonville Beach City Council, in cooperation with City Administration, has decided to cancel the fireworks display scheduled for July 4th, 2020, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This, of course, was not an easy decision, but was made in the best interest of the safety and well-being of our community. Due to the anticipated attendance in the tens-of-thousands it would be impossible and unsafe to enforce any type of social distancing measures as recommended by the CDC. Jacksonville Beach Government felt it was important to take measures now, in order to keep slowing the spread of COVID-19 and keep confirmed cases low in the Beaches Community.

City Administration is working with other local governments to investigate the possibility of rescheduling the fireworks display for New Year’s Eve.
