Ocean Rescue Lifeguards

The Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Division (JBOR) is a certified Advanced Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Agency of the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA). JBOR is the ocean and marine rescue service for the City of Jacksonville Beach that protects more than 4.1 miles of coastline.

As a certified first response agency employing over 80 personnel, the Ocean Rescue Division is comprised of Lifeguards, Lifeguard Emergency Medical Technicians  (EMT), and Command Officers. All of the Division's Command Officers are, at a minimum, Florida Licensed EMTs.

Year-Round Staffing

Residents and visitors are provided beach and ocean safety year-round. Tower Staffing is weather dependent, but Ocean Rescue performs truck patrols year-round, even during inclement weather conditions.

Beach & Ocean Safety Presentations

Jacksonville Beach Lifeguards provide Beach and Ocean Safety Presentations when available for groups, schools, faith-based organizations, and businesses.
