Building & Fire Permit Documents and Forms
NEW PERMITTING PROCEDURES
All applications for minor permits, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and roofing work shall be submitted online.
Completed application packages that contain blueprints and/or with a project value of $25,000 or greater shall be submitted in printed/scaled format via courier, mail/package delivery services, and/or in-person at City Hall.
After two business days, you can track the status of permit applications using COAST, our
-COAST- Customer Online Application Services Tool
No login is required. You can query all processed permits using the Parcel ID number or Address – you can also use the current owner name or the DBPR registered company name but these options may be more difficult to search by).

Submit a Request to Extend, Renew, or Close Permit
When performing due diligence for certain real estate transactions, it is not uncommon for open or expired building permits to be discovered. The absence or presence of permit application records does not guarantee work actually commenced or that the work performed meets all building, zoning, and/or fire code requirements, applicable laws and/or regulations. A permit that is not formally finalized in accordance with established guidelines, typically by means of a final inspection, expires after 180 days of the last approved inspection. Once a permit expires, it is referred to as inactive and recorded in the property’s permanent history, despite any ownership changes. Applications and permits can be closed using the procedures set forth under F.S. 553.79 and/or FBC-Building, Chapter 105.
The Planning and Development Department is not required to approve private property real estate transactions. However, interested parties may want to verify that a site (property) can accommodate any existing/proposed types of use(s) and/or buildings meet all requirements for public health, safety and general welfare as well as local utility, code enforcement and zoning-related requirements (parking, grease interceptors, signage, sanitation, property maintenance, variances, special exceptions, setbacks, etc.) and fire-related (fire hazards, distance requirements, life safety, etc.) codes and there are not any existing non-conformities that may need to be rectified.
